Trainee (m|f|d) Leadership Programme

We are the asset managers for Munich Re and ERGO and we also manage the assets of private and institutional clients outside the Group. Some 850 specialists in Europe, North America and Asia are currently involved in the global capital markets, managing investments of every kind – most notably pensions, property, shares and alternative investments – worth over 300 billion euros. With a presence like this, we are among the leading asset management companies in Europe. That’s something we’re proud of.
We are now looking for motivated all-rounders and talented individuals who are happy to question established systems and are eager for fresh input, to take part in our 15 to 18-month Trainee Programme in Munich.
We will prepare you perfectly for a changed working world – in exchange we will benefit from your highly motivated, confident and communicative personality. In short: We will transform you – you will transform us. Do you want to go on this journey with us? What does that journey look like exactly and what can you expect? Read about it for yourself!

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

  • Our Future Trainees Journey is one of the first programmes in the market that specifically prepares you as a future manager for the challenges and upheavals during and after coronavirus.
  • You will be personally mentored by senior managers and will gain insights into the finance industry’s hottest topics such as FinTechs, blockchain, AI or machine learning.
  • You will also learn agile and virtual methods, and will be familiarised with subjects such as CSR, sustainability, ESG and diversity.
  • In addition, you will take part in innovative training and events – providing you with the ideal chance to expand your network and broaden your horizons.
  • Depending on availability, you will also have the valuable opportunity to gather international experience and work for several weeks at our New York branch.
  • Last but not least, if you prove your aptitude, you will be assigned management duties after completion of your trainee programme.

What’s included:

  • First-class security for the future: You can look forward to an open-ended contract of employment inclusive of above-average remuneration and company pension – as part of the Munich Re Group you can also obtain insurance with ERGO on employee terms.
  • Optimal work-life balance: With 30 days of annual leave and the chance to work outside the office and flexibly (thanks to our trust-based working time arrangement), work and leisure can be perfectly reconciled.
  • Getting here is easy: We have good transport links and are also happy to help you move and find accommodation. During the initial months, we also offer a rent allowance.
  • We look after you in the round: apart from free lunch, you can expect the best advanced and continuing education opportunities and any amount of inspiration: the perfect basis for your professional and personal growth.
  • We think ahead: The wellbeing of our employees is a top priority. You therefore benefit from high health and safety standards, for example in the shape of virtual onboarding and remote training.

And here’s what you have to offer us:

  • An above-average master’s degree inclusive of international semesters. Students from any discipline may apply and are very welcome.
  • Internship experience with respected companies in the areas of asset management, corporate consultancy and/or consulting.
  • Desirable but not a must: some relevant professional experience.
  • Dedication and curiosity that go beyond your job or studies, e.g. any voluntary work or scholarships.
  • A solid command of English (at least Level C1) and good German (at least Level B2), both written and spoken.

Does that sound like the perfect match for your ambitions?

In that case, we look forward to receiving your detailed curriculum vitae and letter telling us why you are applying. We particularly welcome applications from women because we intend to fill at least half of the trainee places with female candidates.
